COVID19 Bulletin – November 2020
Welcome to our bulletin, designed to keep our users and supporters fully informed on all matters concerning your Village Hall.
This is updated to take into account changes as they occur.
Like everyone else, we are very keen to return to normal just as soon as possible but we must be guided by the Government on this.
We are particularly aware of the legal responsibilities of the Trustees so need to ensure that it really is safe to re-open before doing so.
Tier 3 restrictions apply from 2nd December which means that the hall will remain closed to group/sport activity as well as private bookings until further notice
The Village Hall Draw Supper is postponed until COVID-19 regulations allow us to hold large gatherings; villager’s health and safety is vitally important.
For the same reason, our annual ‘New Years Eve’ event will also not take place this year. It is also probable that our planned second ‘Burns Night’ event in January 2021 will also be the victim of cancellation, unless a miracle appears!
On a more positive note, having followed the guidance of the Charities Commission to hold the equivalent of 6 months operating costs has meant that we have been able to suspend our normal booking terms and conditions.
This means we’ve been able to refund deposits less a small administration fee where a booking has been cancelled and we are also able to be very flexible about re-bookings.
Please be assured that any monies paid in advance will be held in credit for when activities resume. When we do re-open, we will balance each account, giving credit for the closed period or for reduced activity.
Sadly, the Post Office will also have to remain closed until we are able to open the hall once more.
We very much look forward to the day when we can bring you the exciting news that we can re-open but, in the meantime, we hope you and your family remain safe and well.
